VELEROS/SAILBOATS

Desde que empecé a trabajar con el vidrio y experimentar con distintas formas artísticas y utilitarias, tuve siempre la idea en mi mente de crear "veleros". Veleros, porque me gustan los veleros y me gusta navegar a vela. Veleros, porque para mi son un símbolo de libertad.Veleros, porque los veleros estan en la mar y la mar es mi medio y fuente de inspiración. No en vano soy Piscis. Nacio a la orilla del mar y vivo en una isla. Asi pues en mi diario quemar vidrios fui poco a poco dandole "calor" a la idea de hacer veleros. Al principio los hacia totalmente planos con las velas fijas. Resultaron muy bonitos y gustaron mucho y los vendí muy bien. Pero todavia no estaba contenta y fui poco a poco desarrollando otras técnicas para agregarle "movimiento" a las velas. Despues de muchas pruebas y errores y miles de velas feas, poco a poco fui consiguiendo darle a la velas movimiento. O sea "hinchar" las velas. Por esa razón puedo hacer las velas planas en color o transparentes y tambien las velas con movimiento en distintos colores de vidrio. Pronto tendré en este blog las fotos de mis veleros para que los visitantes puedan verlos y disfrutarlos tanto como yo haciendolos.

Ever since I started fuisng glass in different utilitarian and artistic forms, I had in my mind that I need to be able to fuse "sailboats". Sailboats, because I like them and I enjoy sailing. Sailboats, because to me they are a sign of liberty. Sailboats, because they are at sea and sea is my inspiration point and font. No wonder, I am a Pisces born close to the sea and actually live in an island. So in my daily firing glass, I was little by little "warming up" the idea of fused glass sailboats. At the beginning I made them totally flat. With flat sails. They came out very nice and people liked them and I sold many. But I was not totally satisfied and little by little developed techniques to give "movement" to the sails. Now I can make flat sails whether in color or transparent glass and also "full sail" sailboats. Soon I will have the pictures of my sailboats in this page so that visitors of my blog can see the sailboats and enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them.
